Kath Hughes, Women's 1s vice-captain, prepares for the World Cup with England O35s in Cape Town, SA.

Wishing Ladies' Performance Player, Kath Hughes, and her England O35s teammates, the best of luck as they fly out, tonight, to Cape Town to start their preparations for the 2024 World Cup, which runs from the 12th to the 21st October 2024.

Kath is a major part of the club, having represented Sheffield HC for many years in the Performance Team, and we are all very proud of her continued development as a player.

Before she left with the England team, Kath told us; "It’s such an honour and a privilege to get the opportunity to represent my country in South Africa in the World Cup. I am so proud to be representing Sheffield HC and overwhelmed by the support I have received so far. It will be an experience of a lifetime to remember!"

James Ross, Women's Performance Coach, said: "We fully support Kath in her representing her country in South Africa, and send positive thoughts and all our best to the whole squad. To play alongside so much talent from fantastic clubs across the country must be a huge honour, and we will all be checking the performances and results over the coming weeks. Have a great time and bring home a medal!"

Good luck Kath, from everybody at Sheffield HC!
