The new season starts next month and all being well, we should be playing on our brand new pitch! Once again, to celebrate the start of the new season and to officially open the new pitch, we will be holding the SHC Club Day.

The action will start at 9:00am on Saturday 7th September. All new for 2024 is the inclusion of Youth tournaments with the Under 12s and Under 10s playing first thing whilst those Under 14 Youth athletes will play alongside the Senior tournament.

Both our first teams will be in action on the day. The women will play Matlock at 11am whilst the men will entertain Preston at 4:30pm.

In between, we will run both the Senior and Youth(U14) tournaments, which will see four teams play a round robin leading to a final between the top two teams.

To play in the Senior tournament £10:50(includes chip buttie)

(Please note that in order to play in the Youth tournaments, the Youth athletes must have played in YYHL leagues last season. In order to play in the Senior tournament, Youth athletes must have played in Senior hockey matches last season.)

Club Day wouldn't be complete without the obligatory raffle. You can support this in two ways. Firstly, you can donate a prize or you can buy lots of raffle tickets in the hope of winning one or more) of the kindly donated prizes. You will be able to buy these on the day or why not get ahead of the game and buy them on line beforehand. There'll be plenty of opportunity to try and win yourself other prizes in one of the hockey challenges. Can you flick the ball further than anyone else???
